Politics

You have probably heard it at least once online, I am talking about crime statistics separated by ethnicity. It seems like it is the favorite argument of right-wing people online and they always bring it up to justify their racism. If we would actually look at the statistic and how it came to be, we could quickly deduct all the biases and factors, for example that PoC are more likely to be stopped by the police, or that social-economic situations and past-apartheid play a major role, and even the CIA... yet again.

But if we Ignore all these reasonable things, one question still remains, which they cannot really answer, which is:

Why does this only apply to PoC? Why are statistics only a factual evidence if it plays into their worldview? If one tries to bring up any other statistic they are very quick to deny it. Climate change? Obviously all fake, according to them. Correlation between crimes rates and economic factors? who cares about that! But the crown has to go to sexual assault statistics, because if you take one look at them you quickly notice that 95% of all reported sexual assaults were committed by men. Suddenly this doesn't count anymore, suddenly you are not allowed to use that statistic to justify your stance against men, suddenly they collected the data wrong and men dont report SA as often and a million more excuses.

Why is it fair if they justify their racism by bringing up US crime statistics, but unfair if you bring up SA crime statistics to justify your dislike for men?

Obviously we know the answer, it being that these people run on fear and emotions and nothing else, but still, it is upsetting to ever talk to them because it seems like they are immune to information or critical thinking.

small post about twitter flags

I've come to realize that I can very easily avoid stupid or annoying posts by looking at the flag or flag combinations in twitter handles, upon further inspection I have also noticed a pattern of the people using it.

A Ukraine flag most often means the user is western aligned and pro NATO (or even NAFO) and will not shy away from dehumanizing russian people by calling them orcs and laughing about watching them die.

A Taiwan flag has a similar meaning but the user is usually more focused on the asian SOI, criticizing china greatly no matter what they do, and by doing that they try to grasp at anything they can, even if it is straight up CIA psyops or pure bullshit, if china was a western country they would obviously be pro-china and anti-taiwan instead

A combination of a Taiwan– and a Ukraine flag is a combination of these two types of people, usually extremely pro-western american accounts or very liberal ones which for some reason love division between the nations. Speaking of liberals, they identify with the Globe emoji, which is by far the worst you can come across on a regular basis, screaming a bunch of american or nato bullshit and praising our failing system while demonizing other nations which use the exact same system.

A Russian flag can mean two things; The user comes from russia, or they are a hardcore nationalist wanting the death of the western world. To me it is just the other side of the same coin, two different nations using the same systems hating one another just because, but they are a lot less annoying than the other ones, although way more insane too.

A Palestinian flag is usually a good sign because it means the user has basic empathy, I cant say more about that besides that. Its really simple.

A Israel flag however means that you are talking to a literal maniac who is likely going to deny genocide or even praise it, I tend to not interact with them at all because I might as well talk to far-right extremists.

Most other flags dont carry as much meaning and are more of an indicator of the users nationality, I believe that nobody should put a flag in their name because it looks stupid.
